From 20–24 October 2025, the Global Rethinking Finance Collaborative (GRFC) hosted the 2nd Futures Fair for Business & Finance, a week that brought together investors, innovators, leaders, and community practitioners from every region of the world. Their message was unified and urgent:
The world does not lack viable solutions. It lacks the financial systems to scale them.
Across five days, speakers demonstrated the extraordinary progress already being made in food systems, water security, regenerative agriculture, nature-backed finance, traceability platforms, biodiversity corridors, sustainable construction, and community-led economic transformation.
Projects are working, on the ground, right now, but they continue to be constrained by:
- fragmented and reactive finance
- a widening gap between available capital and investment-ready solutions
- funding structures built for pilots rather than systems
The Futures Fair was designed to close this gap, not through more declarations, but through:
- Capital-stack engineering and investment platforms
- Digital verification & MRV tools for traceability and trust
- Decentralised, community-led models with shared ownership
- Nature-based asset strategies that value forests, soils, water & biodiversity
- Collaborative action across finance, policy, and local leadership
This was not another conference.
This was structural change in motion.
A Clear Call to Action
US Climate Envoy John Kerry recently warned the finance sector at Building Bridges that we cannot afford to wait. COP30 must deliver real investment outcomes, not incremental pledges. The Futures Fair is the practical counterpart to that plea – a marketplace for systemic solutions that are ready now.
What Comes Next
To ensure this momentum leads to real deployment of capital, the GRFC will:
- Continue confidential investor–project matchmaking
- Convene an Evaluation & Strategy Session – 13 November 2025
